Can someome describe Sophia Auld From Frederick Dougl' Autobiography?

She was Hugh Auld's wife, his master at one point, and she taught him how to read. When he first arrived at the Auld's plantation, he believed her to be a kind and sympathetic person. That she was - in the beginning at least. Slavery soon turned her heart to stone, and she felt no more sympathy to Dougl or any one else.
