How should i talk to my son about attractions to the other ?

My son is 14 he keeps getting texts from someone called sam im guessing short for samantha about . How do i talk to him about girls i mean is he being influenced by the music he listens to e.g justine beaver he loves him and posters all over his room, and loves playing badminton and Carry's round a satchel (you know kids now a days). Do you think this could be affecting my sons behaviour by the music, sports, and clothes he likes if so how do i talk to him about it?
